Paul Apps was Born in 1958 in Kent, England, Paul developed an early love of nature and wildlife from exploring the Romney Marshes where he was raised.

Drawing and painting the wildlife he observed started as a hobby, but due to early success and increasing demand for his work, Paul decided to turn professional in 1987. Since then, his reputation as a Wildlife, Equestrian and Portrait painter has increased dramatically.

Exhibitions of his work have been held in the U.K. Africa, Singapore, Europe and the U.S.A. where his first one man show sold out on the opening night. Paul has over 60 fine art prints to his credit, many of which are no longer available and images have been sold through Sothebys, Christies and Bonhams where record prices have been achieved. Originals are keenly sought after by collectors world-wide.

Paul has raised, through his art, many thousands of pounds for wildlife conservation. Charities which have benefited include The Born Free Foundation, The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, Tuskforce and The Injured Jockeys Fund.

For many years Paul taught art techniques and wildlife art painting and he has demonstrated many art products for various major materials manufacturers. He has also contributed to many art tuition magazines and a book.

Paul is particularly well known for his African wildlife images, and he has returned annually to Africa to gather reference for new paintings since his first field trip in 1989. Paul fell in love instantly with the game and thrilling landscapes that are Africa. The love he feels for this beautiful continent, deepens with each visit, along with his complete dedication to recreate the wildlife on canvas.

" My love and depth of feeling for Africa, cannot be measured, nor expressed in words. The images I paint equally struggle to do the enormous justice to a beautiful land. I have dedicated my life to achieving the very best images that I can. I suspect that my last canvas will be my best, as my last ever visit to Africa and its wildlife will be my best and most spectacular. My only wish is that I might convey to you, the viewer, some of the deep feelings that I have through the images that I create".
